Dear STC 2027 Participants,

Developing international cooperation in the field of satellite technologies, with both foreign government agencies and private organizations, is currently a priority for the Kyrgyz Republic. Key areas of such cooperation include gaining access to satellite data and high-precision space-based monitoring, acquiring satellite imagery, building workforce capacity, exchanging expertise, and receiving expert and technical support for the development of national satellite technologies.

Given that the space industry and satellite technologies represent a relatively new field for the Kyrgyz Republic, leveraging international experience and advanced technologies is crucial for building the necessary competencies and establishing the required institutional framework.

Kyrgyz Government understands that satellite technologies are widely applied across virtually all sectors of public administration, including urban planning, agriculture, emergency prevention and response, critical infrastructure monitoring, environmental protection, land and water resource management, transport, geology, and other areas. In this context, the Kyrgyz Republic views the development of satellite technologies as a promising avenue for the country's digital transformation and intends to consistently expand international cooperation aimed at adopting modern space technologies and enhancing national capabilities in this sector.

Having supported STC since inception, we are pleased to now welcome the event to Bishkek at a formative moment in our country’s development of space-related capabilities. We see this conference as an important catalyst for partnerships, knowledge transfer and investment that will support the foundations of a future national space ecosystem in the Kyrgyz Republic and the wider region. We very much look forward to welcoming regional space agencies and the wider global space community to Bishkek in 2027.

- Office of Presidential Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic
