Uzbekistan launches national space monitoring programme

On 23rd November 2022, the decree for the development of the national space industry 2023 – 2024 was signed by President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.




One of the key objectives of the decree is the implementation of a national space monitoring programme focusing on 7 industry sectors namely agriculture, water resources, geology, ecology, forest, land management and emergency situations.


The implementation of the programme will result in better agricultural macroeconomic decisions, better detection of land tenure crimes and natural resources misuse crimes, the generation of billions of additional tax and penalty revenues, a more effective ecological policy, more effective use of water resources, improved food security and better emergency management as well as a significant step forward in the digitalisation of the country.


As a result of this decree, the volume of government orders is growing and Uzbekspace Agency welcomes new offers of collaboration, experience sharing and technology transfer from experienced international partners in the aforementioned fields.
